When Deadwall released their debut album back in 2014 no one could quite place the Leeds band.
Aspects of Pavement's off kilter approach shone through, alongside lush moments of Americana, or even the power pop of Big Star.
New album 'The Zero Cliff' takes this process one stage further, with singer Thomas Gourley explaining: "It's the best band Deadwall has been, I think..."
He says: "'The Zero Cliff' was built from the ground upwards as one solid body of work. It’s also the first recording with a really settled line-up".
This confidence shines through on album highlight 'Alto Flocc', with the ensemble performance complimented by subtle additions to the arrangement.
Wonderfully lucid indie-folk of a deeply English vintage, 'Alto Flocc' is speckled with faint traces of nostalgia.
The black and white video picks up on these moments of backward beauty, extrapolating these into an entrancing monochrome clip.
