The upcoming Kurt Cobain biopic Montage Of Heck is still producing some gems.
Director Brett Morgen appeared on the Today program in the United States, introducing the film and his aims. Discussing his involvement with the late singer's family, the film maker explained that he had developed a close partnership with the Nirvana frontman's daughter Frances Bean Cobain.
"It was really a tribute to Frances," he said. "And when I met with France the first time, she shook my hand and said, ‘I just met you but already I know you more than I know my father’… And we sat down and she said, ‘Listen here’s the thing, everywhere I go in life, people are always saying you’re dad’s the greatest and he’s like Santa Claus.. Whatever you do, keep it real. Keep it honest. Let’s tell the truth. But use the art to tell the story.'"
The director then introduced a clip from the film, which finds Kurt playing with his daughter and musing on the impact of fatherhood.
