Conservative MP Matt Hancock has revealed he is a big fan of Ed Sheeran's 'Galway Girl'.
When Ed Sheeran released new album '÷' earlier this year he broke almost every single chart record placed in front of him.
Sure, those crisp, commercial singles led the way, but perhaps the album's biggest talking point was pipe-led Irish lass tribute 'Galway Girl'.
The problem? It was enormously popular but no one seemed to like it - indeed, one critic labelled it "cultural theft".
Step forward, then, Conservative MP and Minister of State for Digital and Culture Matt Hancock who has taken up the mantle of professional 'Galway Girl' fan.
In a move that has already caused no small degree of online consternation the politician has picked 'Galway Girl' as one of his highlights of 2017, saying that Ed Sheeran "has been amazing for the music industry this year".
