New European focus for Brighton weekender

The Great Escape, that annual hop, skip and stagger around the best venues that Brighton has to offer, all in the search of some new and exciting music to discover.

Of course, The Great Escape has not only become synonymous with the hottest new music in British, in recent years it has positioned itself as a cultural attache for cutting edge music across the globe, presenting a different international partner each year. In 2013, the official international partner to the festival comes in the form of Poland's IAM and their 'Don't Panic! We're From Poland' package, which will provide delegates and festival goers with an exhilarating snapshot of Polish culture through a series of musical performances designed to enchant and influence.

The weekend kicks off with a performance from Pictorial Candi proving that punk is far from dead, later followed by synth-disco trio KAMP!. Polish hip hop act Daniel Drumz will then take to the stage to bring the evening to a close. With productions such as 'Kraktown' and 'Da Bush Babies' demonstrating an influence of Mr Scruff-style beats alongside a strong emphasis on funk and jazz, Daniel Drumz is one not to be missed.

Friday welcomes back Daniel Drumz alongside Enchanted Hunters, who will be bridging the gap between American-indie rock, jazz and psychedelia. TEIELTE will also bring his unique brand of experimental dance music, which combines elements of drum 'n' bass, trip hop and Aphex Twin infused electronica, to the shores of Brighton.

The event will culminate on Saturday 18th May with a hand-picked selection of performances lasting over 10 hours. The artists featured on the night will include The KDMS, with their infectious take on new age disco grabbing the attention of DJs like Justin Robertson and Rinse FM's Daniel Avery, electronic/guitar trio Tres.B (our recommendation), three time award winning vocalist Brodka (pictured above) and Enchanted Hunters once again.
