The French label taps Yeezy collaborator Cali Thornhill DeWitt for new artwork.

Think of Kitsuné and the mind steers toward episodes of French indie or electro; shout about the record label’s sartorial sibling, Maison Kitsuné, and images of subtly themed, preppy vibing fashion collections will no doubt be thrown up.

For the former’s 18th music compilation, and the merch offering that accompanies it, a change.

Dropping this Friday – the 18th, get it? – the brand’s latest 16 track sample has been labelled The Hysterical Advisory Issue and introduces a new focus on chill, funky hip hop and future R’n’B, meanwhile Cali Thornhill DeWitt has been tapped for the cover art and the aforementioned fashions.

Known to the masses for collaborating with Kanye West on that Pablo selection, for this project the LA based artist has produced a black and white print that nods to the traditional parental advisory sticker.

Shot here by Kevin Aubert and styled by Wein Wein as part of the French art collective La Ligne Bleue, the capsule’s references are based in underground hip hop culture, while the physical line-up boasts a hero of the streetwear scene – a long sleeve tee; a short sleeve T-shirt and tote bag elsewhere conclude the offering.
